Condors Oct. 17th

The Condors lost to the Ontario Reign a very tough 8 - 2.
After winning both pre-season games, and crushing the Reign the night before, they might have gotten a little cocky. The players were missing passes, and not working well together at all. Timo the Goaltender, was not up to tonight's onslaught, letting 7 shots get past him. In the 3rd round, Coach Raymond [finally] replaced Timo with Justin, who only let one goal get past him. But, it was too late.
The season started with one win, and one loss.

Condors Oct. 16th

The Condors started the official season against the Ontario Reign.
The Reign seemed to be slow on their feet. While the Condors were flying on the ice with great team work. They were passing and assisting each other like they have played together for years. They were in perfect sync. Justin the Goaltender didn't let anything get past him.
The Condors easily won the game 5 - 0.

Condors 2009-10 Pre-Season

The Condors played Stockton on October 8th and 10th in pre-season.
On October 8th, the game was in Stockton, and the Condors won 3-1.
On October 10th, the game was in Bakersfield, and the Condors won 5-3.

The Condors have almost a completely new team this year. Only 2 players returned from last season; Bobby Bolt and Andrew Ianero. A lot of the new players are young hot-shot college players, with tempers to match their skill. I expect a LOT of fisticuffs this year.

Bible Time

Why did Jesus have to die?

What if you were given the chance to look into the future to see how your children would turn out [before they were born]; what would happen in yours & their lives. Would you decide not to have them? Odds are you would change nothing, because they would be the children of your heart.
If you found out that your future children would bring you pain & suffering [they usually do], would that change your mind? Most people answer no.
If you knew your child would bring you much joy & pain by their life choices, would that diminish how much you would love them?
Just imagine: Say the child of your heart was to run away, and reject your life style and you. Maybe fall into trouble or drugs and be lost to you. If you could rescue you child and bring this beloved child of your heart back to you, would you? What If child was in very bad trouble. Was being held captive and was to be tortured to death, and would be lost to you forever. And you were given the chance to rescue your child and guarantee that you would have eternity with your child if you did as the enemies asked, would you?
What if these captors/enemies wanted to torture you instead, but promised to release your child? Would you not suffer for this beloved child of yours, to save your child this pain? How many parents are willing to die to protect their children? That is what God did.
He knew when he created us, that we would rebel. He also knew that He could save us. He knew the cost, but was willing to pay it because of His love for us [His beloved children].
He knew that we could not live the perfect lives necessary to spend eternity with Him. He knew that our sin & rebellion bring separation from Him. He also knew that there was a way to bring us back into proper fellowship with Him. The Israelites offered the purest sacrifices on the alter, to God, to cover their sins. But, to be truly forgiven, only a true and perfect life would be able to keep us close to God. As humans we fail. God is the only perfect one. He knew that it would take a perfect sacrifice to fix our relationship. God in His foreknowledge knew the cost. He created us anyway. Why, because He loves us. We are His beloved children. So He died in our place to save us from hell. If He had stayed in the grave the story would have ended there. He rose from the grave to defeat sin and death. He is Heaven preparing a home for us right now.
Instead of being offended by the fact that He suffered and died for you. You should be grateful that He loves you that much. I am. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life". Knowledge of His sacrifice is not enough. We need to accept the give of eternal life with Him. That is why He died. Read John 3:3-8 this is about being born again. We can know and believe that He died, but if does not reach our hearts and change our lives, His death was for nothing.
Again: If you were given the chance to look into the future to see how your beloved children would turn out [before they were born]; what would happen in yours & their lives. Would you decide not to have them? Odds are you would change nothing, because they would be the children of your heart.
If you found out that your future children would bring you pain & suffering [they usually do], would that change your mind? Most people answer no. If you knew your child or children would bring you much joy & pain by their life choices, would that diminish how much you would love them?
JESUS KNEW THE COST AND HE WILLINGLY PAID IT BECAUSE HE LOVES US.

Bible Time

Are you a Christian? Lets find out.

I believe in Jesus.
Romans 10:9-13
... if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.
For, "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved".

Very good, but...
James 2:19
You believe there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe - and tremble!

Matthew 7:21-23
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
"Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'
"And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Okay, you say, "What else is there?
You need to have a relationship with God.
John 3:1-8
There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him."
Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?"
Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'
The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

Being a good person will never be enough. Doing good things will never be enough.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Are you a born again Christian?
